The National Citizen Survey is sponsored by the International City/County Management Association in cooperation with the National Research Center, Inc. (NRC). The questionnaire and survey procedure were designed based on the experience of hundreds of local governments, ranging in size from small to large.
Scientific sampling and weighting of the responses in each city ensure accurate and reliable results. Over the past 20 years, the National Research Center has conducted more than 1,000 surveys of residents for local governments.
The City of Rio Rancho conducted a similar survey in 2008 and 2015 to identify community strengths and weaknesses, establish benchmarks for tracking the quality of services provided to residents, and gain useful information for immediate and long-term planning.
