District 4

Marlene Feuer

Marlene and her family moved to Rio Rancho in 1973, making her a more than 40-year resident of the community.  Her son and his family, including Marlene's two grandchildren, all reside in the City of Rio Rancho.  In total, four generations of her family have resided in Rio Rancho.

Community Service

Marlene’s concern for her community dates back to her direct involvement with the city’s incorporation and serving on Rio Rancho’s first elected City Council (1981). She has served on Rio Rancho’s Planning and Zoning Board and its Charter Review Commission as well.  In addition, she was involved with the formation of the Rio Rancho Public School District, served as the President of the Rio Rancho Chamber of Commerce, and served on the board of the Rio Rancho Economic Development Corporation.

Marlene currently serves on the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Recycling Coalition, is a member of the UNM West Advisory Council, and is on the Board of Directors for the Center for Hands-On Learning (non-profit educational business).

Professional Background

Marlene was a professional in the solid waste and recycling industry in the State of New Mexico for over 35 years.

During her career, she was the Government and Community Relations Manager and Vice President of Waste Management of New Mexico, Inc.  She directed a staff of over 300 people dedicated to customer service and protection of the environment.

Marlene oversaw five solid waste hauling divisions and three Subtitle D sanitary landfills in the State of New Mexico.  She managed the contractual compliance of more than forty municipal, state and federal government contracts and ensured the environmental, health and safety compliance of all staff members, operations and facilities.
