Road Work
Lane Restrictions Related to Water Service Line Replacement

Work taking place may require roadway lane restrictions between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. When this occurs detour routes will be noted with signs.

17th Street (October 20-21, 2014): Closed between Arlene Road and Brenda Road; Closed between Brenda Road and Erlinda Road; Closed between Erlinda Road and Fran Plaza.

Erlinda Road (October 21-24, 2014): Closed between Charlene Road and 17th Street.

Widening of N.M. 528 from Southern Blvd. to Ridgecrest Drive (New Mexico Department of Transportation Project)


Currently March 2014 through fall 2014

Monday through Friday

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Both directions will have various lane closures for roadway construction

Starting at 8 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, and lasting for five days, turning from Eastlake Drive from N.M. 528 will be prohibited. 

On Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, left turns will be restricted at Leon Grande Avenue and N.M. 528; right turns in and out will be allowed.

Speed Map

VIEW real time speed data on Unser Boulevard from Westside Boulevard to Paseo del Volcan and Southern Boulevard from Lisbon Avenue to N.M. 528.  On the map, BLUE is fast (above the speed limit); GREEN is normal (around the speed limit); YELLOW is below normal (below the speed limit); ORANGE is slow (significantly below the speed limit); and RED is extremely slow (traffic is at a crawl). The map auto-refreshes every 5 minutes.

Updated information is posted as it becomes available. Motorists traveling within construction zones are urged to drive with caution and observe traffic control devices. Remember to always wear your seat belt and drive the speed limit.
