Broadmoor Boulevard will be extended from Linderhoff Avenue to Paseo del Volcan (also known as NM 347).  Construction will consist of a new two-lane paved roadway (approximately 1.3 miles), crack-seal and overlay (approximately 0.9 miles) of the existing roadway from Northern Boulevard to Linderhoff Avenue, a traffic signal at the intersection of Paseo del Volcan and Broadmoor Boulevard, and a temporary traffic signal at the intersection of Idalia Road and Broadmoor Boulevard to improve safety at that intersection.  The extension will create a new and needed north-south corridor that will provide improved access to the City Center area including: UNM West Campus, UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center, CNM Rio Rancho Campus, City Hall, Santa Ana Star Center, Hewlett-Packard, and S & P Data.  In addition, the extension will open up a new area for development.  This project is being funded through several sources including: a Federal Grant, City impact fees, and City Higher Education Facilities Gross Receipts tax.
