Solid Waste Contractor

The City of Rio Rancho has contracted with Waste Management of New Mexico to provide solid waste and recycling services for the residents and businesses in the city.

Residental Services
Both the residential trash and recycling are picked up curb-side weekly.  The dark gray or black poly-cart is used for trash and the green cart is used for recycling.  The items to be recycled are co-mingled in the green cart and include:

• Plastics numbered 1 to 7 (no plastic bags or styrofoam, please)
• Newspapers
• Telephone books, magazines
• White paper including mail, etc.
• Aluminum cans
• Tin cans (pet food, etc.)

Residential service rates beginning January 1, 2013 are $12.73 per month for the two poly-carts. Additional carts are $6.33 per month.
