Rio Rancho Homecoming Parade
On Friday, September 17, 2010, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., the Rio Rancho High School Homecoming Parade will take place and travel from the Rio Rancho Sportscomplex on High Ressort Boulevard to Broadmoor Boulevard and end at Rio Rancho High School on Loma Colorado Boulevard.

Cleveland High School Band Marching/Concert Event in Enchanted Hills Subdivision
On Saturday, August 28 starting at 10 a.m., the Cleveland High School Band will perform as they march from Vista Grande Elementary School, 7001 Chayote Rd., until they reach Mountain View Park, 6441 Grayson Hills Dr.

The parade route will travel along the following roads: Chayote, Kokopelli, Cielo Grande, Dream Dancer, Nighthawk, Grayson Hills, Brighton Hills, Freemont Hills and Coventry Hills.

At 11:30 a.m. at Mountain View Park, the band will perform until 1 p.m.

Road Closures Due to Heavy Rains
Due to heavy rains on Monday night (Aug. 23), the following dirt roads will be closed for the next several days while crews make repairs:

-Progress Boulevard between Unser Boulevard and Rainbow Boulevard

Motorists should adhere to posted detour signs.

Apache Loop Reconstruction and Waterline Replacement Project Week of August 30, 2010

Continuing to Friday, September 3, 2010, contractor crews will be working on the following streets milling and replacing waterlines: Apache Loop, Pontiac Drive, and Chippewa Court between Chippewa Drive. Work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Continuing to Friday, September 29, 2010, contractor crews will be working on the following streets milling and replacing waterlines: Apache Loop, Chippewa Drive, Apache Court, and Iroquois Court between Hondo Road and Pontiac Drive. Work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Access on Apache Loop, Pontiac Drive, Chippewa Court, Chippewa Drive, Apache Court, and Iroquois Court will be restricted to one-way traffic.

Please adhere to posted detour routes, speed limits and one-way restrictions. All vehicles need to be removed from street parking and will be towed if left on the street during construction activity hours.

Trash cans need to be placed on the opposite side of the street for waste pick up.

21st Avenue Reconstruction Week of August 30, 2010
Construction activities during the week of August 30, 2010, as part of the project to reconstruct 21st Avenue between Golf Course Road and Grande Boulevard wil include: 

1) 21st Avenue between Leonard Street and Grande Boulevard: Leonard Street will be closed at the north side of 21st Avenue for the construction of curbs and gutters through approximately August 30. Traffic will be restricted to one-way, westbound traffic between Leonard Street and Grande Boulevard. Please use 20th Avenue as a detour for eastbound traffic.

2) 21st Avenue at Yucca Street: Yucca Street will be closed at the north side of 21st Avenue for the construction of curbs and gutters through approximately August 30..

Work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please adhere to posted detour routes, speed limits and roadway restrictions. All vehicles need to be removed from street parking and will be towed if left on the street during construction activity hours.

Broadmoor Boulevard Reconstruction Week of August 30, 2010
The construction activities scheduled to take place during the week of August 30, 2010, will include:

1) Broadmoor Boulevard between Nicklaus Drive and High Resort Boulevard: Traffic is restricted to one-way, northbound traffic. Please use Chessman Drive, Parkside Road, High Ridge Trail, Panorama Heights, and Nicklaus Drive as detours for southbound traffic.

2) Access at the following streets will be closed at Broadmoor Boulevard through approximately September 18, 2010:

o Seven Falls Drive (Beginning September 2) - please use Chessman Drive, Parkside Road, and High Ridge Trail as detours.

o Panorama Heights - please use Chessman Drive, Parkside Road, High Ridge Trail and Nicklaus Drive as detours.

o Aberdeen Drive - please use Inverness Drive or Greenock Drive as detours to High Resort Boulevard.

o Pinewood Drive - please use Chessman Drive, Parkside Road, High Ridge Trail and Nicklaus Drive as detours.

o Oak Hills Drive - please use Chessman Drive, Parkside Road, High Ridge Trail, Pinewood Drive, and Nicklaus Drive as detours.

o West Island Drive east of Broadmoor Drive - please use Superstition Drive as a detour.

o West Island Drive west of Broadmoor Drive - please use Chessman Drive, High Ridge Trail, and Nicklaus Drive as detours.

o The south end of Chaparral Loop - please use the north access of Chaparral Loop as a detour.

Work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please adhere to posted detour routes, speed limits and roadway restrictions. All vehicles need to be removed from street parking and will be towed if left on the street during construction activity hours.

Enchanted Hills Boulevard -- Bismark Way to Sprint Blvd. (Paseo Del Volcan Construction)
Two-way traffic has been detoured between Sprint Blvd. and Bismark Way. The speed limit within this area is 25 mph.

In addition, Lawrence Drive will not have access to Enchanted Hills Boulevard. Northbound traffic will be detoured east to Mackenzie Drive and have access to Enchanted Hills Boulevard via Montreal Loop.

Road restrictions and detours are expected to last through late 2010.

This work is part of the Paseo Del Volcan Construction project.

Enchanted Hills Blvd. NE -- Caldera Rd. to Augusta Hills Dr.
From Tuesday August 31, 2010 through Tuesday September 7, 2010 from 9 am to 3 pm each work day the outside eastbound lane of Enchanted Hills Blvd. will be restricted for utility work in this area.

Paseo Del Volcan Construction -- Iris Road to U.S. 550
Construction of Paseo del Volcan is currently ongoing. Shoulder work is occurring along U.S. 550 and in the vicinity of Paseo del Volcan and Iris Road. The speed limit through this workzone is 45 mph.


N.M. 528/Pat D’Arco Highway
From July 12 through Sept. 17, 2010, contractor crews will be installing new roadway street lighting along N.M. 528/Pat D’Arco Highway from Sabana Grande Avenue to Northern Boulevard, and from Idalia Road to U.S. 550.

No delays are anticipated by this construction, and working hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.

This project is a New Mexico Department of Transportation District 3 project with funding provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.


N.M. 528/Pat D'Arco Highway at High Resort Blvd.
Contractor crews have placed a partial temporary signal span at this location to accommodate intersection improvements. Lane restrictions in place during working hours: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the northbound outside lane on N.M. 528 from Barbara Loop to just north of High Resort Blvd. Expect delays over the next several months (now through fall 2010) while work is being performed.

Southern Blvd. SW at 2nd St. SW
From Friday July 23, 2010, through Monday August 30, 2010, contractor crews will be performing utility work in the shoulder areas of this intersection from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each workday.
