The Roads & Drainage Section is charged with the design and construction of Capital Improvement Projects. These projects consist of, but are not limited to, roads, sidewalks, traffic signals, storm drain improvements, bridges, and drainage facilities. Cooperation with other public agencies such as the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT), Sandoval County, the Mid-Region Council of Governments (MRCOG), and the Southern Sandoval County Arroyo Flood Control Authority (SSCAFCA) is necessary to provide project planning and development on short-term and long-term improvements to the City of Rio Rancho's Transportation and Drainage System.
In addition, the Roads & Drainage Section provides technical support to the Development Review Section for privately funded projects such as subdivisions.
