The City of Rio Rancho's Keep Rio Rancho Beautiful division invites volunteers of all ages to take part in this year’s Great American Cleanup event. This nationwide event is an ideal opportunity for schools, businesses, civic groups, neighborhood and service organizations, and individuals to contribute to the well-being of their community. Activities include cleaning public lands, right-of-ways (roads), illegal dumpsites, vacant lots, school campuses and parks. Advance registration by April 21 is required to receive cleanup supplies. Collection activities are planned for Saturday, April 29, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Rio Rancho Police Department Headquarters, 500 Quantum Road. Collection boxes and the retrieval of surrendered pharmaceuticals will be provided by DEA.
Destruction of the materials will be accomplished in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
